Well, soggy flowers and little moggies may have done it for Julie Andrews, but here are a few of the guys who leave me twitterpated* *In no particular order, though obv. as the page goes on, it's as we sign them!
The only even remotely puck-bunny page...
Well, maybe the only even remotely puck-bunny page. There may be a couple more dotted around here and there...
Jim Hibbert
Um, obviously given the name of the site and everything, Jim started the phenomena. And after a look at those eyes, you can see why...
Trevor Prior
Steelers' goalie, um....x-number of years after Jim. I sponsored his home kit, and have a game-worn home shirt.
Kent Simpson
Yes, I was one of the people cheering extra loud when it was announced that Kent was coming home this season. I was also one of the ones on the bus from Sheffield to London to watch the Schwennigan Wildwings game. Given last season, could go off him quite easily...
Daryl "Adonis" Andrews
At the end of the 2004-05 season, I swore that if Daryl Andrews signed for any club other than the Sheffield Steelers, I would wear an away shirt until Christmas as a period of mourning. And that I did, when his perfectly-sculpted-Greek-God-like body signed for a team in Finland (well, that and cry profusely).
Dion Darling
Yes...my guilty secret is out at last. Dion may have committed the ultimate sin and left the Steelers for the Panthers, but he's still a big hunk of dark, brooding moodiness. And he can fight too. And he looks good with "war wounds" the next game. *purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr*...good kitty... ; )
How he'll suit a Devils shirt remains to be seen...
Jeff Sebastian
Yet another Steelers hottie nabbed by the Panthers...Jeff was gorgeous with us, and he's still gorgeous with them. And yes, I was one person campaigning for him to come back this season!!
Joe Cardarelli
First spotted when he took part in the centre spread of a Play-Offs programme as "Ragtime Cowboy Joe", wearing a cowboy hat, skin-tight jeans, and very little else. *Rowr*
George Awada
Spotted in the same photo spread as Joe (see above), and looked just as good. In fact, I'm all for the same centre-fold theme being used every year, with different cowboys.
Jason Weaver
Inadvertantly, Jason Weaver ended the second-longest relationship I've ever had...when me and a friend were planning my fantasty wedding to him via text message, and a crutial one went to my then-boyfriend. Just a week later, it was all over. But I still had Jason to lust after... ; )
Jason Robinson
The third foxy Jason to pull on a Steelers jersey, and the second foxy London lad to join us for 2005-06, his position in the Hall of Hockey Hotness was sealed with a slightly risque appearance on a Steelers game DVD in the locker room...and his jockstrap...and nothing else!! Opposition players be afraid, that's definately NOT all padding...our Jason's a big boy ; ) (er, I mean shoulder-wise, obviously, you dirty-minded little buggers, as in, he could squish you...in a checking way...I give up!).
Plus he gets extra bonus points for being quiet, and shy, and just a sweetie in general.
John Wynne
Speaking of cowboys...lolololol. John (yesss, Teeder's brother) played for the Steelers in 98-99, and I thought he was fantastic. Hence me owning a shirt (mocking his brother's theme tune) that said "Come on with us, come on within, you ain't seen nothin' like the bum on John Wynne". Which he was highly amused by. Also, he's a nice guy who gave me a lift when I was stuck at an event, and also "gave" me the song "Little Bitty" by Alan Jackson, because I was so small. I was one of only 3 fans with his name on my shirt, hence being kind of memorable!
Jason Heywood
The first of the foxy Jasons, and another 98-99 player (what can I say...# It was a verrrrrry good year...#!!). He wasn't a big favourite at the time (hence the pic to the right was cropped from the background of the one above!!), but bonus points for still looking good covered in tape, bruises, and stitches.
Dennis Maxwell
So much more than eye-candy, I was lucky enough to meet Dennis on numerous occasions...he's enchanting. You couldn't wish to meet a more honest, genuine and humble guy, he's fantastic. And DID NOT deserve to be shafted by certain people in positions of power (and certain players who shall remain nameless). The Dennis incident was probably one of the first times I've felt genuinely ashamed in a hockey situation.
Also, the best hockey photo I've ever taken in my life is of Dennis.
Dennis Vial
The first (but by no means the last...see below) gorgeous Dennis to pull on a Steelers jersey, Mr.Vial had it all, including a fantastic pre-fight strip-tease. Also he played before the compulsory shirt tie-down rule came into effect, so frequently ended fights completely topless, not least in the infamous Sheffield-Nottingham bench clearance. Sadly after 2 seasons in Sheffield the Darren Brown debacle meant that the 2000-01 season would be his last. *sob*
